Pistols

Before I start explaining and teaching you certain things about pistols please be sure to look at the previous pages before because they give you basic information about pistols and other important facts. Now that you have read the introduction and understand the basics of the pistol we can now go into more detail. First I will explain what all you want to look for when buying the perfect pistol and later I will explain many different places you can buy, sell, and trade pistols. I will be sure to keep you up to date when the manufacturers start producing new models.
In the first paragraph I will tell you things to make sure that the gun is right for you. The first thing I look for in a gun is the grip. I always make sure the pistol fits my hand perfectly before I buy it. The gun should have a natural feel to it and if it doesn't you probably aren't going to have as much pleasure using it and it may even cause your accuracy to go down slightly. The second thing you want to make sure is a trigger fit to your liking. Some people prefer triggers to be really soft and others prefer a solid push to fire their weapon (you can change the trigger so if you REALLY like the gun you can also experiment with different triggers). It really depends on your personal preference, but make sure you like it before you purchase it. In the next paragraph I will teach you how to figure out if the gun is quality or not.
If you are thinking about only paying 100 to 200 bucks on a good firearm then you are WRONG. Some people say you don't always get what you pay for, but in the firearm business if you pay more for a gun then you are most likely going to get better quality. Who wants a gun that jams every other shot? If you buy a gun from about 500 dollars or more then you are most likely getting a good quality gun for a good price. I know it seems like a lot, but if you are wishing to buy a gun for self-defense do you want it to work when you need it? In this case my advice would be to buy a better gun, because your life is worth more than money. So while getting to the point, if you can afford a good pistol then buy it rather than a 100 dollar piece of junk. The final paragraph will be about what caliber to purchase.
This is another one of those decisions that is going to have to be made by you. The question is whether you want a big gun that gives it to them or a smaller caliber gun that will hit them where you want. There are obviously different advantages and disadvantages to different calibers like the .40, .45, 9 mm, etc. Some of the advantages of the smaller guns like the .22 caliber are very straightforward. They will shot a lot more accurate than using a bigger 9 mm for instance. You will also be able to reload them a lot faster if you're out of ammo so this therefore increases the speed that you can shoot at another person. There is also a main advantage to bigger calibers in that they will have a lot more power behind them and if you do hit them in the right place, it's a bad deal for them. So to wrap things up it really depends on your preference whether you want to have a gun that will slice right through someone or one that you will be able to easily hit many times.
Now that I have told you about the VERY important things you will need to know about purchasing the right gun you are now ready to start searching for what handgun you would like to purchase. I will post a page that will tell you where I personally get guns from and update you on new guns later. Also be sure you want the gun before you buy it and if possible it is smart to go to a range and try it out before you leave with it just to make sure you like it. I hope you have learned just what things you need to know and if ANYONE has any questions just post them on the home page.
